Why did you decide to study at IMC Krems back then? What goal did you pursue with your studies?

After graduating from high school, I was looking for a degree programme that would ideally combine my areas of interest in business and language. With the bachelor programme in Export-oriented Management at IMC Krems, I found exactly what I was looking for. I was particularly impressed by the international orientation of the university of applied sciences, the practice-oriented approach and the high quality of the courses. My goal during my studies in Krems was to acquire skills and competencies that prepared me for an international career in a constantly changing business environment.

What were the special features of studying in Krems for you? What did you benefit from the most?

There were many special features of studying in Krems. I would like to emphasise the very good preparation for future professional challenges, which we learned primarily through intensive group work, projects and presentations. What I appreciated as a student in Krems was the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland in the 3rd semester and to gain initial work experience abroad in the 4th semester. Throughout my studies in Krems, I benefited from a focused and informal learning environment and from teachers who supported me at any time with additional projects.

What happened after graduation? What opportunities opened up? Can you use the know-how from your studies professionally?

The time after my bachelor degree was equally extremely instructive and exciting. After successfully completing my bachelor degree in Krems in 2017, I decided to pursue a dual master programme at ESB Business School in Reutlingen in cooperation with ALDI SÜD/HOFER KG group. In addition to my two-year master degree in “International Retail Management”, I was trained as a regional sales manager at HOFER Austria. As a regional sales manager, I was responsible for the economic success of five to six HOFER stores and about 100 employees. Thanks to the skills gained at IMC Krems, I had a good basis for mastering professional challenges skilfully.

Why did you choose this profession and what is special about your job?

After my studies, I wanted to take on responsibility quickly and use my talents in a professional environment – HOFER gave me the opportunity to do so. The position as regional sales manager holds many challenges and lets you grow personally. Last year I was given the opportunity to move to HOFER Austria’s headquarters in Sattledt. I currently work as Online Marketing Manager, and together with my team I am responsible for HOFER’s digital presence, the website, the app and the newsletter. What I particularly enjoy is implementing projects in the digital area and thus getting our customers excited about HOFER.
