Global knowledge exchange

The week from 8 to 12 April was all about our motto "International by heart". As part of our "International staff week", "Transnational training week" and "International teaching days", we welcomed a total of almost 60 colleagues from 44 universities from our partner network in 23 countries to IMC Krems.

International teaching days

The International teaching days marked a significant milestone in our university's commitment to internationalisation and provided a great opportunity to bring together knowledge and experience from different countries and academic disciplines. The guest lecturers from our partner universities came from various disciplines and brought a lively variety of viewpoints, best practice examples and stimulating discussions to their courses. They taught on the bachelor degree programmes in Applied Chemistry, Business Administration for the Public Health Sector, International Business Management, Business Administration, Tourism and Leisure Management, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy as well as on the master degree programmes in International Business and Economic Diplomacy, Marketing and Environmental & Sustainability Management.

The International teaching days not only serve as a platform for academic exchange for students and colleagues, they also reflect the cultural diversity that makes our network of partner universities so valuable and unique.

International staff week focussed on best practices

Under the motto "We will make you feel at home - catchy slogan or binding promise?", our Welcome Center organised a varied and interesting week for the participating colleagues, most of whom came from the International Relations departments. They gained exciting insights into our Welcome Center activities, the Media Lab, our marketing measures and the processes of student counselling and admissions organisation.

The cultural and culinary supporting programme offered a variety of unforgettable experiences. All the "must-see" attractions in our region, such as the night watchman's walk through Krems, a wine tasting, a Wachau excursion and a folklore evening, were part of this week and left nothing to be desired.

Transnational training week

The aim of the "Transnational training week" was to give our partners at the transnational programme locations in Baku, Tashkent, Hainan and Hanoi the opportunity to get to know our programme directors personally. Our processes and quality criteria in the areas of didactics, research and the admissions process were refreshed in separate sessions and workshops.

"Our aim was to create a beneficial stay in Austria - one that is not only exciting and informative, but also fosters meaningful intercultural connections. This week provided the best opportunity for this and demonstrates our high level of internationalisation," emphasises IMC CEO Udo Brändle.
