New series of the “Sustainability Café” – sustainability you can listen to!

Why does IMC Krems offer this podcast? Sustainability is not only a central topic of our time, but also an integral part of our university profile. With innovative degree programmes such as Sustainability Management and Environmental and Sustainability Management, we train the sustainability experts of tomorrow – in a practice-oriented, interdisciplinary and international way. The podcast makes this knowledge tangible and shows how sustainability really works in studies, research and the professional world.
The first three episodes – this is what you can expect:
- Episode 1: Debunking sustainability myths (with Karl Michael Höferl)
Our new head of the Sustainability Management programme debunks common myths: is sustainability really just about sacrifice? Is vegan always better? And can fast fashion be sustainable? Spoiler alert: physics cannot be outwitted! - Episode 2: Sustainability in business operations (with Bernhard Dollensky)
Our new COO talks about service orientation, resource efficiency and sustainable corporate governance. From waste collection campaigns at primary school to donating 10,000 trees – how sustainable thinking develops and how it is demonstrated at IMC. - Episode 3: The Dark Side of Sustainability (with Alexander Mair)
Sustainability isn't all sunshine and rainbows. We talk about greenwashing, greed and the challenges of the mobility transition. And why convenience sometimes wins out after all. But: even small steps count!
Other topics in this series:
- Self-employed in the sustainability industry – IMC graduate Vera Pichler talks about her path to self-employment and her new role as a part-time lecturer.
- Sustainability standards under the microscope – Gebhard Binder, Head of Quality Management, explains what is behind ISO 14001, the most important environmental management standard.
- Perspectives gained in practice – students on the bachelor programme in Sustainability Management report on their studies, their projects and their plans for the future.
- Internationality and sustainability – what role do global perspectives play in sustainable development?
Why should you listen in?
Because sustainability affects us all – and IMC Krems is actively working to develop solutions for a more sustainable future with its range of programmes. The podcast makes this knowledge accessible, encourages reflection and shows in an entertaining way how science, practice and personal experiences interact.
