Start-up competition: Innovative start-ups in the historic centre of Krems

The competition is aimed at anyone who would like to realise a new, forward-looking business idea in Untere Landstraße (Kaltenböck to Wiener Brücke). With the opening of a high-quality meeting zone in spring 2025, this location offers the perfect stage for new businesses - attractive retail space, high customer frequency and a dynamic environment. A wide variety of projects are welcome: not only traditional retail, but also creative offices, restaurants, etc.
Revitalising the city centre
The city of Krems (Stadt Krems), Kremser Stadtmarketing and numerous partners are offering valuable prizes for the first time as part of the start-up competition. A high-calibre jury will select up to 6 business ideas from those submitted. The business idea must actually be realised in order to receive the prize money.
‘I am delighted that my idea for the ‘My business idea in Krems’ initiative is now being realised. Kremser Stadtmarketing has launched the competition to revitalise the Untere Landstraße in the city centre and rent out the vacant spaces there. I was allowed to be a member of the jury. Being involved in real projects is very important for my degree programme,’ says Tanja Ihden, Head of the StartUp Management bachelor degree programme at IMC Krems.

About the StartUp Management bachelor degree programme
The StartUp Management bachelor degree programme at IMC Krems offers practical insights into the central concepts of start-up management - from inception to scaling. One of the aims of the programme is to provide our students with the best possible networking opportunities: be it through participation in start-up conferences and hackathons or joint stays in coworking spaces. The course content is taught both via ‘boot camps’, i.e. a one-week face-to-face intensive course, and online.
