Students reveal: This is what studying at IMC Krems looks like

Studycheck.at is the leading evaluation platform for degree programmes in German-speaking countries. Students can rate their degree programme and award stars. They can also take part in a survey to find out what is really going on at their university or college. Besides course content, lecturers, courses, facilities, organisation, access to literature and digital studying, also the flirt factor and sustainability were evaluated. The total of 395 ratings resulted in a fantastic 4.3 out of 5 stars in the overall assessment and a recommendation rate of 97%.

Sometimes love is in the air

At least 51% of students believe that there is love in the air on campus and ‘occasionally something happens’ - could one reason for this be the very good Wi-Fi, which is rated as ‘very good’ and ‘good’? Nothing stands in the way of an offline meeting in a beautiful setting either, as 94% of respondents confirm that parks, green spaces and rivers (the Danube) and lakes are in the immediate vicinity of the university and 84% rate the campus as very beautiful. In addition, 69% of students believe that it is easy to socialise with other people at the university.

At home on campus with a home advantage

63% of students consider the campus to be their second home. As many as 36% of students still live with their parents, i.e. they come from the neighbourhood. 78% of those who do not do this commute home at the weekend. They also like to use public transport, as 44% rate the public transport connections as ‘very good’. Almost half of those surveyed are enthusiastic about the wide range of university sports on offer, but students lag behind when it comes to cycling: 62% never use their bikes - we ask ourselves, what's going on? The Wachau is particularly popular with cyclists and there are plenty of places to park bikes on campus, so let's get pedalling!

Comments from the degree programmes

‘Theory and practice are perfectly combined and I immediately noticed the interdisciplinary nature of the courses - what I learnt in one subject often enriched my understanding and performance in several other subjects’ are what our students say about the Master degree programme in International Business and Economic Diplomacy.

"Lecturers are very accommodating and competent. Courses build on each other‘ and ’Many different, also very modern teaching materials" are what students attribute to the bachelor degree programme in Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege.

‘The breadth of topics and the variety of subjects are great for gaining an overview of the entire topic of sustainability, which helps a lot, especially with another specialised bachelor degree,’ says graduate Lea about the master degree programme in Umwelt- und Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement.

What role do evaluation platforms play when choosing a degree programme?

Evaluations of a degree programme can be helpful when choosing a course, as they provide an insight into everyday life on the course. They provide authentic experiences and help to compare different degree programmes. Students and alumni can use the independent evaluation platforms to review course content, courses, lecturers, organisation, facilities and campus life.

Details of the survey
