Valentina Zach is currently studying Chemistry (formerly Applied Chemistry). She initially started with Pharmacy at the University of Vienna but soon realised that she preferred a more personal learning environment. The subject she enjoyed the most was Chemistry, so after some research, she discovered the Chemistry bachelor degree programme at IMC Krems.
Story
Valentina's Journey into Chemistry

A personalised learning experience
Compared to many other universities, IMC Krems offers a much more personal atmosphere. For example, all laboratory courses take place in small groups, allowing students to ask questions and receive individual support. Additionally, the schedule is well-structured, with lab sessions perfectly aligned with theoretical lectures.
Exciting international opportunities
One of the highlights of Valentina's degree is the Practical Training Semester (PTS), which takes place in the 5th semester. She is currently applying to a research group in Chicago. Since the entire programme is taught in English, she feels well-prepared for this international opportunity.
Student life in Krems
Valentina really enjoys student life in Krems. The campus is modern, and there are plenty of places to relax between lectures. Especially in summer, it is lovely to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Beyond academics
In her free time she loves travelling, spending time with friends and family, and going to the gym. These activities help her maintain a balanced lifestyle alongside her studies.
Looking ahead
After completing her studies, Valentina plans to pursue a master degree programme - possibly the new master in Sustainable Chemistry and Digital Processing* at IMC Krems! At the moment, she is considering doing a PhD to move into research. However, the chemistry field offers many exciting opportunities, so she is looking forward to seeing what the future holds!
