Your tasks
You are a leader
You will teach bachelor or master-level courses in your scientific discipline in English. You contribute to the research areas of Software Engineering and Intelligent Systems with applied research projects. In order to develop and realise innovative ideas in digitalisation, you will act as a link between business and technology. You will inspire students when supervising their academic papers and nurture our network by fostering relationships with regional and international partners. You also have all what it takes to motivate people exploring current business topics and their links.
Your profile
You have a distinctly international outlook
- PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
- Expertise/Experience in Scientific Computing, HPC, and related areas, including but not limited to:
High-Performance and Parallel Computing (e.g. MPI, OpenMP, CUDA); Optimization of Algorithms for Performance (numerical, combinatorial, or data-intensive); Scientific Software Development and Engineering; Modeling, Simulation, and Computational Methods (e.g finite element methods, molecular dynamics, climate modeling); Performance Portability and Tuning for Modern Architectures (GPUs, FPGAs, and Exascale systems); Data-intensive Cmputing for Scientific Applications - University teaching experience
- Experience of conducting research projects and attracting third-party funding
- Strong publication record and active member of the scientific community (as reflected in memberships, conference attendance and peer review work)
- Excellent English (min. C1 / Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

IMC Krems is not member to any collective agreement. The minimum annual gross salary for this position is EUR 58.800,- on the basis of full-time employment (40 hours per week). Depending on professional qualifications and experience, we are willing to overpay. The award of a professorship is not tied to the conclusion of an employment contract but to a peer review process and requires appropriate evidence of the candidate's record in teaching, research and practice.
