The degree programme

This part-time programme gives you a clear overview of the process landscapes of companies and organisations. It aims to enable you to plan, implement and manage processes in the long run, based on the process landscape.

YOU DECIDE WHAT TOPICS AND INDUSTRIES YOU WANT TO SPECIALISE IN

What subject do you want to concentrate on – human resources (HR)? Management control? Setting up and taking over small and medium-sized enterprises? Big data and digitalisation in health care? Or perhaps management and organisation in the health sector? This programme allows you to adapt your focus areas to your personal needs.

For example, you can choose the HR elective in semester 2 and address a topic related to management control in your master thesis in the fourth semester. This gives you broader-based skills that you can use in various sectors.

TIP

In semester 4, most of the time you spend in Krems will be devoted to block courses. This means you can take the next step up the career ladder or alternatively spend time at one of our partner universities abroad. A dual degree at the University of Applied Sciences Deggendorf is a particularly attractive option.

By the way: At IMC Krems, you also have the opportunity to use our Founders Lab alongside your studies. There, students receive support in implementing their start-up ideas and are guided through potential business ventures. Start-up service at its best!

The Management master programme gives you the tools you need to take on mid-level managerial responsibilities in various sectors. We aim to enhance your skills and show you what it means to manage a company and employees profitably, and with a strong sense of responsibility. Because what we need most of all in life is someone who spurs us on to achieve the things that we’re capable of.

Curriculum

A formula for success: theoretical knowledge + practical experience

The programme is built on three pillars.

Semesters 1 & 3

The core areas

In the introductory phase of the degree programme in semester 1, the focus is on general management topics: The area of company analysis, for example, includes internal and external factors used for a company evaluation and location determination. Within the corporate environment module, markets, potentials and market structures are analysed.

These analyses form an important basis for your management career, because defining, processing and evaluating decision-relevant data and information is an essential qualification in management.

You will also analyse how you can make your company fit for the future with the help of agile management or modern innovation models, for example. The aim is to prepare companies to quickly adapt to new trends and flexibly anticipate and help steer future developments.

Crisis management and resilience, compliance and systemic leadership as well as communication are also on the curriculum towards the end of your degree programme.

Semesters 1–4

The practical elements

Practical orientation is a top priority in the degree programme: 90% of the lecturers come directly from the business world where they work as executives in top management positions. This allows them to explain content using examples from their day-to-day work and to provide interesting contacts.

You can also learn a lot from your colleagues, as they all have valuable experience from their working lives.

Within the 4th semester, with the exception of the block week, you will work on your Master's thesis. Here you have the opportunity to work on a real project from your company. The goal is to deepen your knowledge in an area of your choice and get input from our experts.
